Zeno - you get the device, a 60 count treatment tip and a wall charger. List price $150.00. 60 count replacement treatment tips are $25.00 each.

Zeno-Pro - you get the device in pink or teal, a 90 count treatment tip, a wall charger and a leather case with mirror. The Zeno Pro has the highest usage capacity available without a prescription - double the number of uses of the original Zeno. List price $189.00. 90 count replacement treatment tips are $35.00 each.

Acne is the most common skin disease treated by physicians. It is a chronic condition that affects over 85% of adolescents and young adults. There are 4 factors that cause acne:

What is Zeno?
It is the last 2 factors that the Zeno Acne Clearing Device addresses. Zeno is a handheld, portable electronic medical device. It heats the skin up to 120 degrees for 2 ½ minutes which has shown to kill bacteria and cause the influx of heat-shock proteins. These proteins help kill the bacteria and reduce the inflammation in the pore. The heat is controlled by a small microchip that is good for approximately 90 uses. Zeno in Action

The Zeno acne-clearing device by Tyrell inc. is a hand held palm sized device. It works by applying heat to the pimple or blemish. You turn on the machine, clean the treatment tip and when the light goes green you apply the wand to the pimple for a time controlled by the machine, which is about two and a half minutes.

The machine digitally keeps the temperature constant at the tip. The temperature is a specific one that will kill the bacterium responsible for acne, P. Acnes, but will not damage the skin. Sometimes there is a little redness from the heat but that fades quickly. P.Acnes is thought to be responsible for ninety per cent of pimples. The process can be repeated twice over the next twenty-four hours, by which time the manufacturer says your pimple will be gone. They recommend that you wait between four to twelve hours between applications, preferably twelve. The sooner you treat the emerging pimple the better the Zeno device works.

The machine is set so that you can only treat three pimple is one session, as a safety feature.

The machine is attractive and modern in appearance, similar in appearance to an ipod. It comes with a wall charger so you don't have to buy batteries. Initial charging takes about six hours. The heat transfer occurs via a little pad on the tip of the machine. This is programmed to last for only a set number of two and a half minute cycles, after which it has to be replaced. Indicator lights on the side of the device show how many treatment cycles remain for each tip. The replacement tips are easily available.

When a tip has no treatment cycles left then it is easily replaced. The old one pulls off and a new one presses on.

Zeno does not work on blackheads or nodular or cystic acne. It is not designed for use on moles, warts, bites or stings.
If you have sensitive skin, or are taking drugs that make your skin more sun sensitive then test the device on the inside of your arm before using it on your face.
The Zeno device should not be used near the lips or eyes, as this skin is more fragile and sensitive.
Do not use the device whilst standing in the bath or shower.
