I am fully aware that suffering from acne is no laughing matter. I have never suffered from acne. But, for more than 20 years I suffered from rosacea which is just as debilitating.
The point I'm trying to put across is, that I don't of dispute the clinical results or its effectiveness. However, I don't believe this is a long term solution as it fails to treat the root cause. Furthermore, the cost of using MyZeno if very high.

Cost of Treatment
Let's the put the spotlight (sorry about the unintentional pun ) on the cost.
MyZeno claims that it takes 1-2 counts to treat a single spot, pimple or zit over a 24 hour period. A 90-count tip costs $35. This means that each spot, pimple or zit will cost around $0.3 to remove Plus of course the initial $100 dollar for the electronic device.
Not only is the cost extensive, but so is the time needed to treat each individual spot, pimple or zit, that MyZeno claims to be two and a half minutes:

Short Term Treatment Only
MyZeno or other electronic devices of this type can only treat existing spots. However, they cannot prevent further outbreaks as they fail to treat the root cause. This means that the sufferer will be hit with constant rising acne treatment costs.

My Opinion
MyZeno is ideal for those who need to rid get the odd pimple here and there very quickly. However, if you want to try and treat mild acne with this. I recommend that this is used in conjunction with a topical treatment that helps to prevent acne outbreaks. This of course will help to limit some of the substantial costs.

Like a good many people I have been the victim of acne vulgaris (what an appropriate name) the medical term for pimples. It has made me aggravated, made me cry, and made me angry. Thousands of people each year are afflicted by it, and it makes recluses out of a good many teenagers.

It is caused when your pores get clogged and the fatty material made by the sebaceous gland accumulates, and a "bump" appears under the skin-or perhaps a whitehead or a blackhead (a comedone). Blackheads are not caused by dirt but by the discoloring effect of air on the fatty material in the clogged pore. If this substance becomes infected a pimple results.


As anyone can tell you the worst thing to do is to push or "pop" a pimple. Because this will not only cause more, but can result in life long scars. No matter what you see on TV or a friend tells you, don't pop a pimple. I know, I made the mistake and I'm still regretting it.



But not too long ago I discovered a way to lessen the intensity of my outbreaks, although it stops short of completely curing them.

I totally avoid grain products, most especially bread, corn, cereal, and other pastries, (also potatoes) and to still get all my vitamins I add wheat germ and brewer's yeast to yogurt or milk and fruit. Brewer's yeast does take time to acquire a taste to however, and can be found at most if not all Health food stores.

This method may appeal to you or it may not. Use your own judgment and see what is right for you.

The Zeno acne-clearing device by Tyrell inc. is a hand held palm sized device. It works by applying heat to the pimple or blemish. You turn on the machine, clean the treatment tip and when the light goes green you apply the wand to the pimple for a time controlled by the machine, which is about two and a half minutes.

The machine digitally keeps the temperature constant at the tip. The temperature is a specific one that will kill the bacterium responsible for acne, P. Acnes, but will not damage the skin. The machine is attractive and modern in appearance, similar in appearance to an ipod. It comes with a wall charger so you don't have to buy batteries. Initial charging takes about six hours. The heat transfer occurs via a little pad on the tip of the machine. This is programmed to last for only a set number of two and a half minute cycles, after which it has to be replaced. Indicator lights on the side of the device show how many treatment cycles remain for each tip. The replacement tips are easily available.

When a tip has no treatment cycles left then it is easily replaced. The old one pulls off and a new one presses on.

Zeno does not work on blackheads or nodular or cystic acne. It is not designed for use on moles, warts, bites or stings.
